The 10-Minute Weekly Tennis Review Routine

A simple weekly review of your tennis log catches problems early and turns scattered matches into a real improvement plan.

You don't need a coach or a sports scientist. A 10-minute weekly review of your tennis log is one of the highest-ROI habits in amateur tennis.

The routine

Sunday evening, 10 minutes, every week.

1. Log any missing matches (3 min)

Catch up on anything you played that week. Score, opponent, surface, format. Minimum.

2. Open the rolling 10-match view (1 min)

Look at hold %, break %, tiebreak record. Note any number that moved more than 5 points vs last week.

3. Read AI insights, if available (2 min)

Skim the latest summary. Note one thing you'd never have spotted yourself.

4. Pick one focus for next week (3 min)

One drill, one tactical adjustment, or one match to schedule against a specific style of opponent. Write it in a note on the app or in your phone.

5. Done.

Don't overthink it. The win is consistency, not depth.

Why this works

  • Catches drift early — bad habits get spotted in week 2, not month 3
  • Forces a single focus — no scattered effort
  • Builds the data habit — the people who track for years are the ones who do it weekly, not the ones who do massive monthly deep-dives

Set a recurring calendar reminder. Sunday, 8pm, "Tennis review." That's it. The compound effect over a season is enormous.
